Welcome to The Tech Deputies

We are building the systems that power modern businesses. This handbook is your guide to how we work, how we communicate, and what we value. We believe in autonomy, mastery, and purpose—not micromanagement.


1. Our Core Values (The "How")

  1. Systems First: If you have to do it twice, document it. If you have to do it thrice, automate it.
  2. Radical Transparency: We share bad news fast. We don't hide mistakes; we fix the system that allowed them.
  3. Customer Obsession: We don't just "deliver tickets." We solve the root business problem for the client.
  4. Ownership: You are the CEO of your role. Don't wait for permission to do the right thing.

2. Remote Work Policy

The "Remote-First" Promise

We don't care where you work, as long as you have:

  • Reliable Internet: High-speed connection required for video calls.
  • Quiet Environment: Professional background (real or blurred) for client calls.
  • Security: You must follow the IT Security Policy (VPN on public wifi, 2FA enabled).

Availability

  • Core Hours: We expect overlap availability between [Time Range, e.g., 10 AM - 2 PM EST] for synchronous collaboration.
  • Async First: For everything else, communicate via Teams/Loop asynchronously. We respect deep work time.

3. Communication Tools

  • Microsoft Teams:
    • Usage: Daily chatter, quick questions, status updates.
    • Rule: If a decision is made in DM, move it to a public channel or Loop page so others can see it.
  • Microsoft LoopMicrosoft Loop A collaboration app used as the organization's 'Brain' to store living documents, AKUs, and meeting notes.:
    • Usage: Meeting agendas, collaborative drafting, project specs.
    • Rule: "If it's not in Loop, it didn't happen."
  • Email (Outlook):
    • Usage: External client communication ONLY. Do not use email for internal chat.

4. Time Off & Holidays

  • Contractors: You bill for hours worked. Please notify us 2 weeks in advance of planned time off so we can cover your shifts.
  • Employees (FTE): [Policy to be defined upon first hire - Standard: 4 weeks PTO + National Holidays].
  • Sick Time: If you are sick, rest. Do not work. Just post in the #general channel: "Out sick today." No explanation needed.

5. Performance & Feedback

  • The Weekly L10L10 A weekly 90-minute leadership meeting with a strict agenda designed to maintain alignment, accountability, and solve issues.: We review company health weekly.
  • Quarterly Check-ins: Every 90 days, we review your "RocksRocks The 3-7 most important priorities for the company or an individual to achieve over the next 90 days (Quarter)." (Quarterly Goals) and career path progress.
  • Continuous Feedback: We praise in public (Teams) and critique in private (1:1s).

6. Code of Conduct (The Basics)

  • Respect: We have zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination.
  • Confidentiality: Client data is sacred. Never share it externally.
  • Integrity: Be honest. We can fix a mistake; we cannot fix a lie.
